Boys and Girls Club Marshfield
Project Overview
KEG has worked with many nonprofit groups including providing pro bono services. In this case we provided pro bono services to the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield in the development of their new facility. KEG assembled a team that included wetlands scientists and landscape architects who also agreed to donate their time to this good cause. The project involved the construction of a 17,400 square feet facility with associated parking, amenities and other improvements. A subsequent second phase constructed in 2017 added a swimming pool facility.
KEG led all aspects of the site design and permitting for the project including coordinating topographic and property line surveys; provided civil/site design including site layout, grading, and utilities, onsite sewage disposal; coordinated transportation planning; prepared all permit applications; coordinated with the Town representatives; and represented the project through the public hearing process.
The project involved complicated local and state permitting. State permits included the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act process and Mass Natural Heritage permitting process. Local permitting included Planning Board permits.
KEG is proud to be involved in this project where our engineering skills could be used to help the community come together and to construct a facility that will provide an invaluable service to Marshfield families. KEG has been recognized by the club for their sevices.
