Hanover Mall (Hanover Crossing)
KEG has worked on the Hanover Mall property since the mid-1990s and has designed site improvements for all of the development that has occurred there including the redevelopment in 1998, Panera Bread, Trader Joes, Walmart, Buffalo Wildwings, Patriot Cinemas and Dick’s Sporting Goods. KEG has provided additional consulting services to mall management throughout the years including documenting compliance with ADA requirements, wetlands related issues, wastewater treatment plant expansion and signage. In 2010 we worked closely with the Mall management to make zoning changes to the property and performed a detailed HEC RAS analysis to define flood plain elevation on the property which resulted in substantial insurance savings.
KEG is now proud to be working with PREP, the new mall owner, on a substantial repositioning and transformation of the property from an enclosed mall to a pedestrian friendly lifestyle center that will be anchored by a supermarket. This project named Hanover Crossing will involve the demolition of the majority of the existing mall.
Over the years KEG led all aspects of the site design and permitting for the project including topographic and property line surveys; provided civil/site design including site layout, grading, and utilities; coordinated transportation planning; prepared all permit applications; coordinated with the Town representatives; and represented the project through hearing processes. KEG has provided CA services during construction. KEG will provide similar services.
The site is complicated by its location adjacent to third Herring Brook and adjacent wetlands, the wastewater treatment facility and the need to keep the mall operational while project are ongoing.
