Project Overview
This project is one of many projects for Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. is a real estate investment trust (REIT) and owns, develops, and operates offices and laboratories, with more than 160 properties in ten states and Canada. Biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, government agencies, and similar tenants occupy its properties. The REIT’s properties, which contain more than 12 million sq. ft. of rentable space, throughout the US including 5 million sq. ft. in Cambridge.
The Campus in Bedford includes three adjacent properties. The goal of the development was to create a campus like facility where life science companies could collaborate and thrive. The property is adjacent to wetlands resource areas making the site and stormwater management system design complicated.
KEG led all aspects of the site design and permitting for the project. KEG provided topographic and property line surveys; performed due diligence/ planning level studies; provided civil/site design including site layout, grading, and utilities; coordinated transportation planning and resource area delineations; prepared all permit applications; coordinated with the Town representatives; and represented the project through the public hearing process.
