Target Plaza Hanover
Project Overview
Target Plaza is one of multiple retail, residential and office projects that KEG has worked with Forest Properties over the years. This project which became a transformative project along the Route 53 corridor involved the acquiring of many properties that were put together to create a vibrant redevelopment that is anchored by a Target retail store.
KEG led all aspects of the site design and permitting for the project including topographic and property line surveys; provided civil/site design including site layout, grading, and utilities; coordinated transportation planning; prepared all permit applications; coordinated with the Town representatives; represented the project through the complex public hearing process; and provided CA services during construction. We led the CPR process with Target at their corporate offices.
The project involved complicated local and state permitting and compliance with the requirements of Target. Many versions of the plans were generated prior to the final plan. State permits included the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act process and Mass DOT access permitting process. The project required Planning Board and Conservation Commission approval.
The project was complicated by its location adjacent to wetlands and by its topography. The project was one of the first projects constructed after the inception of the 2007 stormwater management regulations and was the first to introduce modern LID measures including bioswales, rain gardens and roof runoff harvesting. The project was recognized by the community for its site environmental measures.
